Several heads and deputy heads of local organizations of the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” announced their decision to vacate their seats in the administrative bodies and to leave the party. Nicolae Garbu, who held the post of chairman of the party’s Chisinau Local Organization, in a news conference at IPN said they took such a decision because they do not agree with way in which the party is managed and with the fact that leader Andrei Nastase is surrounded by people with a criminal record.

The former member of the party said the people, disappointed in the Government and having confidence that the Platform “Dignity and Truth” is sincere, took to the streets. But the party’s administration aimed to besiege the state institutions. The confidence in the Platform was on the rise when the national referendum to amend the Constitution was being prepared. Following the adoption of rash political decisions, the party’s popularity decreased significantly.

Nicolae Garbu is also dissatisfied with the fact that the current administration of the party, on the one hand, pledged to recover the money stolen from the banking system. On the other hand, it does not report on how the ‘millions of lei’ collected in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau was spent. The persons who collected the money now travel in luxury cars, said Nicolae Garbu. He does not rule out the possibility that the vehicles were bought with money donated by people.

“For the party members and for citizens, it is offensive and inadmissible when a party leader is surrounded by persons with a criminal record and with criminal cases under examination,” stated Nicolae Garbu, accusing the party’s chairman of insincerity and lack of integrity. “The party’s administration, manipulating based on the needs and spirit of the people, by actions taken to settle an old score between mafia clans, aim to rehabilitate and bring the Topa brothers to the country and to set free Filat.”

Together with Nicolae Garbu, the party is left by Mihai Balan, Vasile Iacubov and other persons who weren’t presented. The persons who gave the news conference refused to answer journalists’ questions, saying they will be ready to provide more information in ten days and will submit a proposal for creating a new political party within a reasonable timeframe.
