Groceries and confectionery with the pull date expired were discovered in the storehouse of a company located in Botanica district of Chisinau. According to the General Police Inspectorate, serious violations of the sanitary rules and norms were identified during inspections, IPN reports.
The company is also suspected of not including earned money into the financial accounts. During the inspections, the company’s manager was unable to present documents showing the employees worked legally and the origin of the raw material.
The police seized money, memory cards and data about incomes and different food products with the sell-by date expired and without the proof of the origin.
The manager faces a fine of 40,000 to 60,000 lei or up to three years in jails. He will also be banned from holding particular posts or performing particular activities for a period of up to five years.
