Poet Gricore Vieru's bust will be placed on the Classical Writers Alley in Chisinau's central park, under a decision made by the Government on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Culture Boris Focsa assured that the Ministry of Culture will supervise the process of setting up the bust and laying out the adjoining area. The costs of making the bust will be covered from the Government's reserve fund, while of making the pedestal and laying out the area will be covered by the Chisinau City Hall, on the recommendation of the executive. By another decision, the Cabinet decided to allocate 650,000 lei to the Ministry of Culture from the Government's reserve fund for organizing two concerts titled “I Called for You” on February 11 and 12, on the occasion of Grigore Vieru's 75th birthday, and for setting up the bust on February 12. The Executive also decided that a commemorative plaque to statesman and politician Nicolae Costin will be placed on the facade of the building where he lived, located at 132 Stephan the Great Blvd., and another one to the famous academician and linguist Silviu Berejan - on the facade of the building situated at 64 Stephan the Great Blvd. The costs will be covered from the Government's reserve fund and from the budget of the Philology Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
