Grigore Vieru Memorial House to be inaugurated on Romanian Language Day

The Ministry of Culture announces that the renovation of the late poet Grigore Vieru's parental house in Pererata village, Briceni, has been completed. The opening festivity will take place on Monday, August 31, IPN reports.

The event will be attended by Speaker Andrian Candu, Ministry of Culture Monica Babuc, representatives of local and central authorities, members of the poet's family, honorary guests, friends of the late artist, writers, actors, journalists and all those who appreciated Grigore Vieru's works.

Artists such as Mihai Ciobanu, Anastasia Lazariuc, Andrei Porubin, Geta Burlacu, Daniela Burlaca, Sandu Cozub, Fuego and Ionel Manciu will recite poetry by Grigore Vieru and songs based on his lyrics. A church service to bless the memorial house will also be officiated.

“A prominent personality of our national culture, Grigore Vieru is and will remain the most renowned and beloved poet among people of all ages. The opening of this museum is tribute to the Man and the Poet Grigore Vieru, which will highlight his great literary legacy”, reads a press release from the Ministry of Culture.
