Ex-Communist MP Grigore Petrenco, who is a candidate for the post of mayor general of Chisinau municipality, said obstacles are placed to him and his party in order to prevent them from taking part in the elections. He told a news conference that even if his party decided to change its name from “Our Home – Moldova” into the “Red Bloc”, it will most probably run under the old name in the June 14 local elections because the Ministry of Justice may not register the modification until the elections, IPN reports.
Grigore Petrenco noted that his party was registered as election contender three days ago, but they cannot yet use their electoral fund because the competent authorities haven’t registered the account where money is collected. This is clearly an obstacle.
The politician accused the Chisinau City Hall of not allowing the party to place three posters with the wording “It will be better without Filat”, “It will be better without Plahotniuc” and “It will be better without Chirtoaca”.
The party’s list of candidates for the posts of Chisinau councilor includes Mihail Amerberg and Pavel Grigorciuc, who were earlier accused of planning subversive activities, but who are actually political prisoners, as Petrenco considers.
