Gribova school reopened after reconstruction

Nearly two hundred children who attend Gribova middle school in Drochia raion will have better sanitation facilities and a more comfortable place to study after renovations to their school supported by the U.S. Government. The $160,000 project allowed for the complete renovation of the kitchen, dining facility and bathrooms, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the U.S. Embassy.

The project was administered by the United States European Command Civic Engagement Branch and is part of the Office of Defense Cooperation Rural Sanitation Program. “These new facilities will improve the learning atmosphere, and will help to increase school attendance,” U.S. Ambassador William H. Moser said in the dedication ceremony at the school.

The Rural Sanitation Program has supported similar renovation projects in 14 schools and kindergartens throughout Moldova over the last 3 years.
