Three members of the Green Ecologist Party of Moldova were included in the list of Romania’s Green Party for the European parliamentary elections of this year, based on a cooperation agreement. These are Alecu Renita, Andrei Dumbraveanu, and Alexei Palancean. In a news conference at IPN, the party’s leader Anatolie Prohnitski said the Green Ecologist Party is the first in the Eastern area that takes part in the European legislative elections through its candidates.
According to Anatolie Prohnitski, the three candidates proposed for the European elections will promote a clean environment and correct policies for all the people, will attract the attention of European institutions to the necessity of improving the business climate and the justice system in Moldova.
Andrei Dumbraveanu said that Moldova can switch to consumption of ecological energy that is less costly. A comprehensive reform is needed in Moldova’s justice system. A solution is to bring specialists in the field from the European political community. The system for developing the businesses with foreign capital in Moldova should be reviewed by creating joint economic institutions that would ensure foreign capital investments without corrupting the market and would create jobs.
Alecu Renita said Moldova faces serious problems as regards the protection and correct management of the environment. They were inherited from the Soviet period. The students in Moldova are not taught to take care of the environment where they live. Other problems include the small wooded areas and the lack of drinking water in sufficient quantities. Over 80% of the country’s population consumes unclean water.
Alecu Renita stated that if Moldova adjusts its legislation to the European policies, it will be able to solve the internal environment and other problems. It needs a functional energy consumption system and a system for maintaining the quality of soil for bio-production.
The three members of the Green Ecologist Party of Moldova are the fifth, eighth and 27th in the list of 32 candidates of Romania’s Greens for the European legislative elections.
