Greco-Roman wrestlers miss the podium at the World Cup in Kazakhstan

Greco-Roman wrestlers missed the podium at the Nur-Sultan World Championship in Kazakhstan.

Daniel Cataraga was close to reach the match for the bronze medal at the 77 kg weight category. He started with a close defeat against the future finalist, the Swedish Alex Bjurberg, then won against Polish Edgar Babayan in the re-qualification match and dramatically missed the qualification to the bronze match after a 5-5 tie with the Iranian Mohammadali Geraei.

At 60 kg, Victor Ciobanu won against the Estonian Helary Maegisalu and the Indian Manish, however, he lost in the quarters to the future finalist, the Japanese Kenichiro Fumita. At the re-qualification match, Victor was defeated by the Uzbek Elmurat Tasmuradov.

Mihail Bradu (82 kg) and Donior Islamov (67 kg) also performed at the World Cup in Kazakhstan. Bradu reached the re-qualification match, but had a close defeat against Ukrainian Iurii Shkriuba.
