People working in he public and private sectors of Moldova planted trees and set up forest strips and wooded passages on the National Greening Day that is celebrated on November 15. Vice director of the State Forestry Agency “Moldsilva” Fiodor Botnari has told IPN the activism this year is much greater than the previous years.
“We will purchase more saplings next week or over the next two weeks so as to complete the projects initiated on the occasion of this day,” said Fiodor Botnari.
Trees will be planted on about 507 hectares of land. A sum of 1.5 million lei was allocated from the National Ecological Fund for buying trees and for performing regeneration works on an area of 347 hectares.
