Over the course of the next month, on Saturdays, sanitation works will be carried out in the capital, under the motto "The great autumn cleanup". Cleanup works at parks, green areas and other Chișinău district territories will commence on September 26. The cleanup will be attended by all employees of City Hall, its subdivisions, of praetorships and of municipal enterprises.

On Saturday, starting with 09:00, the cleanup will begin at the "La Izvor" Park, "Valea Trandafirilor" Park (Amusement Park entrance ) and “Râșcani” Forest-Park (M. Sadoveanu Street, corner with Igor Vieru Street). Additionally, cleanup works will be performed at Miron Costin Street Park, “Valea Morilor” Park and in the perimeter of Lech Kaczynski, Drumul Viilor and Trifan Balta streets. In the Buiucani district, the “Butoiaș” Forest-Park will be cleaned up.

Vasile Efros, head of the Planning and Sanitation Department of the General Directorate of Housing and Communal Planning (DGLCA), said that the Directorate will ensure the disposal of the collected waste. 20 special vehicles will be made available, as well as over five thousand bags and gloves for all participants.

According to estimates, more than 800 people will take part in the cleanup. Packaging, plastic waste, paper, glass and other waste will be collected. The waste will be taken to the Transshipment Station on Uzinelor Street, where it will be sorted and recycled.

According to Vasile Efros, the cleanup campaign aims to raise awareness. People should be discouraged from dumpling rubbish, so that no one else has to collect it afterwards.

A cleanup of courtyards will follow.
