Grand Hall closed for reconstruction
The exterior and internal design of the shopping center Grand Hall will be changed completely. The mall was closed for renovation on January 16 and is to be reopened early in December, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference on January 20, Alexandru Pincevschi, the head of Ellita 5 holding that owns Grand Hall, said that after reconstruction Grand Hall will be one of the most modern shopping centers.
The third story will accommodate mainly recreational facilities. The total area will be extended by 4,000 square meters up to 16,000 square meters. The commercial areas will be twice larger and will occupy 6,000 square meters.
A sum of €7 million is planned to be invested in the renovation. The investments will be recouped within five years.
Illan Loufer, a representative of Retail Group Romania, which is a partner company in designing the new shopping center, said the selling places will be arranged functionally so that the buyers move freely.
After the center in reopened, the rent for selling places will not be increased, according to the investors. More than 50 companies expressed readiness to sign lease contracts so far.
Grand Hall was opened in 2000.
