The reaping of grains of the first group began in all the districts of the country, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The average winter wheat harvest is currently 3.1 quintals per hectare, while the barley harvest – 2.6 quintals. The areas sowed with winter wheat total 275 000 hectares, while with barley – 55 000 hectares. The reaping will close in 15-20 days. The Ministry also informed that the harvesting of peas from an area of 12 000 hectares in central and southern Moldova is close to completion. The rape is being gathered from over 39,000 hectares. The total harvest will exceed 66 000 tonnes.
