Graduation exam without supervisors from next year

The methodology of organizing and holding the graduation exams in 2012 will not include the words “supervision’ and ‘fraud’. They will be replaced by ‘examination center assistant’ and ‘derogation from the methodology’. These are some of the amendments mad by the Ministry of Education to the normative documents, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Education Mihai Shleahtitski said they decided to substitute these terms with more diplomatic ones. “The methodology also provides that the history exam will be again mandatory,” the minister told the press. Another novelty is that the parents, together with the students, will have access to the exam papers when they will intend to challenge the results. The minister also said that the mobile phone jamming system will be kept. “This year, we used this system in national exam paper checking centers only at the stage of challenges. Next year, the special equipment will be also used at the grading stage,” stated Mihai Shleahtitski. In the schools for foreign language speakers, the exam in the Romanian language and literature will be the first test of the graduation exams. “The move is aimed at motivating the students to learn and speak Romanian,” said the minister. He also said that the students, as earlier, will have to sign a statement whereby they pledge to obey the examination regulations. If they break the regulations, they risk being eliminated. Mihai Shleahtitski said the new measures do not imply large costs and will not affect the Ministry’s budget.
