About 20,000 persons have been employed this year with the help of the National Employment Agency (NEA) following career fairs organized by NEA. Employment assistance services have been provided to approximately 65,000 persons. 3,000 persons were engaged in public service. Over 7 thousand persons received unemployment doles and professional reintegration help. During 11 months of 2007 the budget of the unemployment fund has been consumed to a rate of 95.4% of the 33 mln MDL earmarked. Professional training has been organized in 44 institutions for approx. 40 trades and professions. The employment rate among the trainees of these courses reached 69%, compared to 66% last year. In the mentioned period, 1,860 work permits have been issued or prolonged, 226 permits were cancelled, 326 individual employment contracts were registered for citizens of Moldova employed abroad. There are two resources available for employment opportunities: the governmental portal “R. Moldova employment market” and the web-site “infojobmarket” administered by the Agency.
