Vladislav Zara has been dismissed from the position of general director of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, as decided today by the Cabinet of Ministers, reports IPN.
Minister of Health, Labour and Social Protection Ala Nemerenco says that the removal from the post will be effective from July 8. Nemerenco proposed Zinaida Bezverhni to become the new director of the Agency, recommending her as a pharmacist working with the World Health Organization.
“I would like us to put an end today to the enduring practice where someone from the field of constructions or business was at the helm of the agency, instead of someone familiar with the medicines policy”, argued Ala Nemerenco.
In the same meeting, Prime Minister Maia Sandu proposed that Ela Malai, current deputy director of the National Food Safety Agency, acts as caretaker director until a replacement is appointed.
Interior Minister Andrei Năstase recommended Anatolie Dănilă to be appointed commander of General Inspectorate of Carabineers. Dănilă, 33, has been for 15 years with the Ministry of the Interior and is in the special rank of Chief Commissioner.
The Cabinet also approved the resignation of Igor Cutie from the position of Chief of the General Staff of the National Army following a presidential decree to this effect. Igor Gorgan has been named in Cutie’s stead.
