Govt. allocates 22 M lei for snap elections
The Moldovan government has endorsed a decision on allocating the Central Election Commission (CEC) 22.390 million lei to organize the early parliamentary elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. The money has been taken from the cabinet's reserve fund.
Premier Zinaida Greceanai says the fund is depleted after this transfer. The money is to be returned when the new parliament modifies the 2009 budget.
Finance minister Mariana Durlesteanu says 40.447 million lei were meted out to hold the April 5 parliamentary elections, as 30 million were used up.
The CEC has asked for 33.8 million lei to hold the early ballot. So taking the remaining 10 million lei, the CEC will have enough means to organize the poll.
