The Bashkan (Governor) of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal accuses the chairman of the People’s Assembly Dmitri Constantinov of being irresponsible and unable to delimit the people’s interests from the own or party interests, Info-Prim Neo reports. The statement was made in reaction to Constantinov’s announcement that he will file a complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office against Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the head of the Main State Tax Inspectorate Nicolae Vicol after the media broadcast recordings of phone conversations between the two. In those conversations, the Premier orders Vicol to block the accounts of a company. The Governor said that Dmitri Constantinov’s statements discredit the executive bodies of the autonomous region. A statement published on the Bashkan’s official website says the Gagauz people’s expectations that the local legislature will be managed by a responsible person haven’t been met. Mihail Formuzal is concerned about the fact that the Gagauz legislative body turned into the local branch of the Democratic Party. He calls on Dmitri Constantinov to refrain from actions and statements that may affect the autonomous region’s status. In a news conference in Chisinau, Dmitri Constantinov said he suspects that the instructions given by the Prime Minister to Nicolae Vicol refer to his son’s company. He asserted that in 2012 the Tax Inspectorate blocked the accounts of this company two times, without a legal reason.
