Government’s first floor becomes exhibition hall for a day

Easter eggs, bunnies, greetings and souvenirs made by children with disabilities were displayed at a sale-exhibition staged at the first floor of the Government Building on April 20, Info-Prim Neo reports. Svetlana Chifa, head of the Chisinau Child Rights Protection Division, said the exhibition themed “Bring Joy to Children on Easter” aims to sensitize the people and integrate the disabled persons into society. “We wanted first of all to bring smiles on children’s faces and to show the people that these children are like us. They manage to make exceptional things,” said Svetlana Chifa. The exhibit included works made by more than 1,000 children from 21 community placement centers. “I made Easter eggs, embroideries and trees. I wanted to show that even if they are small, the children have great abilities and rich imagination and can make nice things,” said Elena Dulghieru, of the community center for children and youth “Viitorul”. Most of the authors of the works said they will give the proceeds to their families or to the institutions where they study. The one-day sale exhibition was organized by the National Council for Child Rights Protection. There are over 3,000 children in the placement centers of Chisinau municipality. Another 10,000 children attend day centers.
