The Government will pursue consistent and balanced foreign policy so as to ensure the country’s integration into the EU and to strengthen the relations with the foreign partners, it is said in chapter II of the Government’s program for 2015-2018, which will be presented in Parliament on February 12, IPN reports.

An objective announced in the program is to successfully implement the association agenda so as to obtain the status of candidate for accession to the EU. Another goal is to have the monitoring by the Council of Europe closed and to pass to the post-monitoring stage.

Among the Government’s objectives are also to strengthen the strategic partnership with Romania for Moldova’s European integration, the multidimensional good-neighborhood strategic relations with Ukraine, with emphasis on the European integration, and the strategic dialogue with the EU and to normalize the bilateral relations with Russia, including in such areas as trade, energy and migration.

The Government intends to develop the cooperation potential with such countries as Canada, Japan, China, Turkey, Israel, Korea, India, Qatar and other developing global and regional players.

The executive also aims to strengthen the relations and to consistently participate in the activity of relevant international regional and sub-regional organizations (UN, OSCE, the Council of Europe, BSEC, SEECP, GUAM etc.) so as to promote the national interests and priorities, to improve the image and increase the credibility of Moldova within them and on the international arena. The cooperation with NATO will continue so as to strengthen the state’s defense capacities. Dialogue will be promoted with the foreign partners in a move to identify a political solution for reunifying the country and obtaining the withdrawal of the foreign troops and ammunitions.
