Government will purchase land to extend construction of high voltage power lines

The Government decided to allocate 224,400 lei from the reserve fund for buying 2.78 hectares of land owned by 28 residents of Corlateni village in Rascani district. Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Tudor Copaci said that the land will be used to build the 300 kV power line Balti-Novodnestrovsk and the 400 kV power line Balti–Suceava. The lines will improve the power supply in Moldova’s north and will offer the possibility of transporting electrical energy from the east to the west, Copaci said. These projects form part of the state-owned company Moldelectrica’s plan to join the Union for the Coordination of Transmission of Electricity (UCTE), the deputy minister added.
