The Government will suffer the consequences if it does not make public the report concerning the large theft committed at three banks, produced by Kroll company. Such an opinion was stated by invitees to the talk show “In depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
Analyst Victor Ciobanu considers that by hiding the Kroll report, the Government makes a very big mistake. “There will be all kinds of speculations and suppositions concerning the authors of the theft and the stealing schemes. Different names and sums of over 30 billion lei started to be rumored. Parliament should demand publishing the report. For its part, the central bank could issue a communique to answer the main questions of the people,” he stated.
Victor Ciobanu thinks a part of the stolen money is in the country. “Analyzing the press reports, I determined that about 3 billion lei is in the country. This sum could be larger yet. This money can be recovered if this thing is wanted,” he stated.
Liberal MP Iurie Chirinciuc considers the Kroll report could coincide with the report that he presented in Parliament. “The parliamentary commission made reference to the period between November 2014 and February 2015. The report I presented covers a longer period and the Kroll report also refers to the years 2012 – 2014. This report could contain information that will affect high-ranking politicians. Even if it’s published, the Kroll report will be truncated first,” he stated.
