Government will assist Gagauzia in attracting foreign investment

The Government will think up measures by which to increase the Gagauz authorities’ access to the funds provided by the international development partners to Moldova, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said during a visit to Comrat municipality. The Premier visited several state-owned enterprises and private companies in the region, where he inquired about the made progress and the experienced problems, IPN reports.

Pavel Filip was accompanied by the Government of Gagauzia Irina Vlah and the head of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia Dmitry Constantinov. During the visit, they discussed possibilities of stimulating the central and local authorities’ efforts to solve the region’s problems.

The Premier visited the Comrat District Hospital that is under renovation. In the surgery ward, he discussed the renovation project and possibilities of offering assistance to the health facility with the hospital’s employees.

Pavel Filip also visited the new head office of the Comrat local subdivision of the state-run information resources center “Registru” and a private firm. He spoke about the importance of increasing the region’s investment attractiveness and ensuring of favorable conditions for the business community, which can contribute to the area’s development and offer jobs to the residents of Gagauzia.
