Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the Government in the immediate period will accelerate the implementation of reforms and suggested working out development strategies for each sector. The Premier made such statements in a meeting of the high-level experts of the project “EU High Level Policy Advisory Mission for Moldova”. The meeting involved the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, in the meeting Pavel Filip said the Government will accelerate the pace of reforms in the immediate future and the contribution of the European experts in this process is valuable and necessary.
“We should have permanent, informal meetings, not only with the high-level experts of the Prime Minister, but also with experts from ministries and agencies. In the immediate period, we should work out development strategies for each sector. We thus need a powerful team that would help us implement the reforms with professional expertise,” stated Pavel Filip.
Among the main subjects discussed were the implementation of the reform agenda, the difficulties faced by the experts in their work at the ministries to which they were assigned, the sector policy proposals, harmonization of the national legislation with the Community acquis, the central public administration reform and others.
Speaking about the central public administration reform, the Premier asked to examine the draft public administration reform strategy and to submit proposals.
The experts spoke about their experience at the institutions where they work, appreciating the functionaries’ readiness to cooperate and the working atmosphere at the ministries. These recommended improving the coordination of actions, rationally distributing the budget resources and better managing the external assistance projects.
The Premier proposed holding such meetings with the European experts once a month, on thematic subjects.
