Government welcomes Moldovans returning home on Easter

The Moldovans who return home for the Easter holidays are met with a welcoming message from the Government at all the border crossing points. The reverse of the leaflets distributed to the passengers contains useful information, including telephone numbers and websites classified according to three topics: starting a business, labor market, and health insurance, IPN reports.

“Welcome home! Let the paschal holidays spent alongside your parents, relatives and friends bring you joy and happiness, many good and precious memories. Let your return be auspicious. We are waiting for you to return home any time!” reads the Government’s message.

“This is a sign that we are really glad to see them back and that they keep the ties with their families, and we thank them for contributing to the country’s development,” Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said at the beginning of the April 16 meeting of the Cabinet.

The initiative was put forward by the Bureau for Diaspora Relations and is implemented in concert with the Customs Service and the Border Police. “This way we show our wish to build bridges with those who went abroad, to welcome them home and to show that we think about them and want to help them by familiarizing them with the most important services provided for them,” said the head of the Bureau for Diaspora Relations Victor Lutenco.

Almost 250,000 Moldovans came home on Easter last year.
