"False scenarios", this is how the Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă reacted to the information published by Kommersant about the reservations of gas made by a Cypriot company for the Transnistrian region through the Turkish Stream.
According to the official, the Government was not informed about new solutions regarding the supply of gas to the Transnistrian region other than those previously presented. Also, the authorities officially asked the Russian Embassy in Chisinau to inform which companies would participate in the eventual resumption of natural gas supplies to the Transnistrian region.
"An answer has not been provided so far. Once we receive the answers, we will examine the entities involved in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova and the international one," said Vodă.
He noted that the Russian Federation and its regime in Tiraspol daily flood the information space with all kinds of reports and scenarios about intermediaries, without delivering gas or making reservations through existing pipelines.
"The solution is simple and can be applied today – Gazprom should deliver gas to Moldovagaz in accordance with the contract. Russia, through Gazprom, creates artificial solutions and invents problems that do not exist," said the official.
The Moldovan authorities previously proposal that Moldovagaz should purchase natural gas from the market and deliver it to the Transnistrian region. Subsequently, the so-called Transnistrian leader announced that Tiraspoltransgaz was ready to purchase gas through the agency of Moldovagaz.
