The Government of the Republic of Moldova issued a warning about disinformation concerning the so-called drafting into the National Army.

“A number of citizens of the Republic of Moldova received fake text messages with invitations to join the armed forces. The Government officially denies this manipulation. There is no call-up under way and no call-up is planned. The materials about this disinformation were transmitted to the police and those who disseminate such fake news can be held accountable,” noted the Government.

The Government’s manipulation alert was also posted on the Facebook pages of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
