Government warns about misinformation campaign
The Government of Moldova warns the population about the distribution of loose leaves with a false appeal attributed to Prime Minister Vlad Filat within a misinformation campaign, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The loose leaves in Russian are put into mailboxes of Chisinau residents. An appeal is made in the name of Vlad Filat for the people to work more so that Moldova is able to pay its foreign debt. Those who disseminate such leaves say that during the three years after the coming of the Alliance for European Integration to power, Moldova’s foreign debt rose to over US$5.776 billion.
“The Government of Moldova condemns such actions that have nothing to do with the democratic rules typical of a state of law. It is a cynical campaign aimed at manipulating public opinion. We call on the people not to believe the lies of those who are behind this act,” it is said in a communiqué from the Government. Vlad Filat informed the competent bodies so that they carry out investigations and identify those who organized the misinformation campaign.
