Government vows to protect Moldovans living abroad
The Government Wednesday approved a Plan of Action for 2008 for protecting the Moldovans that live abroad, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the authorities, the approval of the document is one of the Government’s steps aimed at protecting the rights of the Moldovan citizens from abroad that envisage the facilitation of visa regime, legal employment, combating of human trafficking, extension and strengthening of diplomatic missions, legal assistance, etc.
The Plan of Action contains 24 points. The main stipulations envision the setting up of embassies and consular offices in some states (Ireland, Spain, Turkey, and other), development of cooperation with third countries in different areas, improvement of the bilateral legal framework, information campaigns for the citizens.
A separate point of the Plan says that the Moldovans from the Transnistrian region will be informed about the protection measures from which they could benefit while abroad.
