Government tries to make connection to gas pipe cheaper

The Government tries to make more accessible the connection of households to natural gas pipes, after it has noticed that bringing the pipe to the margin of villages actually does not mean genuinely connecting the country to natural gas. The Info-Prim Neo news agency reports that the Government passed a decision entitling the Institute Gaz proiect to compute a single charge for the entire country to be paid off by final consumers to be connected to the gas pipe. The tax is to be enforsed by the Energy Regulating National Agency (ANRE) , as first deputy premier Igor Dodon opines it could vary between 4,500 and 5,000 lei. Now, the companies authorized to provide such services take from 10, 000 to 15,000 lei from one household. Moreover, the process of connecting final consumers is to be joined by the Moldo-Russian distributor. Moldova-Gaz is to invest several hundred million lei in 2008 to insure the connection within localities, as in some of them the pipe is brought to the margin of villages, and then enormous money is necessary,” Economy and Trade Minister Igor Dodon said. However a communique issued by the Government specifies the development fo the networks within households, installing and adjusting gas equipment and their reparation will be paid off by the consumer.
