The government will partially subsidize the nongovernmental organizations “Association of the Blind People of Moldova” and “National Cultural Center for the Deaf People of Moldova” in facilitating access to cultural sites and events. The project sponsored by the PAS lawmaker Maria Pancu was adopted by Parliament in two readings.
The measure will cost the state budget 2.4 million lei. The money will be used to engage people with disabilities in organizing and participating in cultural activities.
Additionally, about 20 million lei will go to increase compensation for transportation services for people with disabilities in the provinces and in Balti municipality, to the same level of compensation as enjoyed by residents of Chisinau.
