Government to sell used cars to renew motor pool
After visiting the Government’s carport, Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev said the motor pool is in dire need of renewal.
During his visit, Vasile Tarlev got acquainted with the working conditions, spoke to the company management and the staff and stressed the necessity of improving the working conditions of the drivers, including by modernising the buildings and existing equipment.
Vasile Tarlev said the Government’s motor pool needs a detailed inventory so that the old cars are auctioned off and the money obtained is used to buy new technology and renew the motor pool.
The motor pool serving the Government Apparatus was opened in 1967. At present, its staff counts 110 persons. The motor pool serves the Governmental Apparatus and official delegations that are on visits to Moldova.
Vasile Tarlev also visited the Auto Space Company, the general authorised dealer of the BMW Group in Moldova. During the visit, the Prime Minister voiced the Government’s interest in opening more such vehicle testing, repair and sales centres, which would correspond to international standards.
Auto Space, General Importer of BMW Group in Moldova was founded in 1997. The company staff includes 160 employees, whose average salary is about 7,000 lei.
