The Government will organise on Tuesday, June 26, the National Forum “Challenges, Priorities, Prospects” during which the Ministry of Economy and Commerce will present the Report on the implementation of the Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EGPRS) for 2006 and the draft Strategy for the National Development Plan (NDP) for 2008-2011. First Deputy Prime-Minister Zinaida Greceanii will present during this forum the opportunities provided to Moldova by the full Millennium Challenge Account Compact Assistance. The Forum will have 250 participants – representatives of the civil society, business and academic community, etc. The presentations will be followed by thematic debates to be conducted within 5 workshops. NDP will define the directions for development in the Republic of Moldova from now to 2011. It will aim at ensuring the continuity of reforms initiated within SCERS. As it is the main long-term strategic document of Moldova, the National Development Plan will be defined during an ample participatory process. Once the National Forum is finalised, a round of discussions will be conducted in 10 cities and towns, including Balti, Cahul, Comrat, Ungheni, etc.
