An analysis of the situation of the population from economic viewpoint will be carried out in Moldova with the aim of improving research and putting the survey results into practice in the economic development processes so as to ensure the people’s welfare. The issue was discussed in the meeting of the national commission for population and development, IPN reports.
The population dynamics in 2015-2017 will be assessed in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund, which will also help implement complex development strategies.
According to the UNFPA Representative Ian McFarlane, this process will include an analysis of the population dynamics resulting from the economic and social realities in the country. The surveys will end with the formulation of a set of recommendations.
The national commission for population and development was constituted under the Government of Moldova in February 2007. It is an inter-institutional body that analyzes, synthesizes and coordinates the sector policies with an impact on the population.
