Government stresses upon the role of scientific activity in economic growth

One of the key-directions of the economic growth is that of including the results of technical and scientific research in the economic circuit, PM Vasile Tarlev stated, in a speech held for the innovators, at the ceremony for awarding the prizes accorded to Moldovan investors within the frameworks of the “Brussels-EUREKA” World Exhibition. According to Tarlev, one of the weakest links at present is the connection between fundamental science with that of the applied and experimental research, as well as applying these results in the production process. The intellectual property and the results of the scientific and technological activity would result, in the PM’s opinion, in producing competitive goods of high technical quality, increasing the exporting potential of the national economy and extending the taxed basis, ensuring technological, economic and ecologic security of the state. In total, Moldovan scientists were awarded 18 distinctions – as many as the number of inventions taking part – 11 gold medals, 5 silver ones, one bronze medal, and one Diploma of merit. The PM handed over to the laureates Government Diplomas. Tarlev is part of a group of prize winning inventors at the traditional exhibition of the International Fair of Research, Innovation and New Technologies “Eureka-2006” which was recently held in Brussels. The gold medal was obtained for the paper “New top technologies of drying mushrooms”. The gold medals were obtained for the following papers: “New production technologies for nanomaterials”, “Electrical microhydrostations”, “Methods to fight castor-oil plants”, “Method to determine the genetic purity of sun flower”, “Alimentary bio-additives”, “Tumor treatment”, “Bio-stimulators”.
