Government stages event for children in Botanical Garden on June 1

On the occasion of the International Children’s Day celebrated on June 1, the Government will organize a program of activities entitled “Celebrating childhood together” in the Botanical Garden. Access to the event will be free and the first 3,000 visitors will receive ice cream, juices and snacks, IPN reports.

“We all wonder what a day spent on the green meadow, without official speeches, with activities for adults and children would look like. It is an interactive program that was prepared by the authorities,” said the Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă.

According to him, the activities in the Botanical Garden will start at 10.00 a.m. There will be mounted exhibitions, artistic programs, workshops, activities for children, presentations of intervention and forensic techniques of various state institutions. Also, the dogs and representatives of the Cynological Service will stage demonstrations. Other presentations will feature traditional sports.

“We invite parents and children to visit the activities organized by the country’s government at the Botanical Garden in the capital city,” stated Daniel Vodă.

Parliament declared June 1 a nonworking holiday last year. According to the authors of the initiative, the amendments to the Labor Code will give parents the opportunity to mark June 1 with their children. According to them, interest in the child must be a priority and all the children need daily support and attention.

The International Children’s Day marked on June 1 is celebrated in nearly 50 countries. More than a hundred other states celebrate the children’s day on different dates.
