Government has settled the charges for the accommodation in hostels which will partially cover the expenses for the maintenance of the hostels belonging to the vocational, higher education institutions and to education institutions of sciences and innovation. The charges will come into force starting January 1 as stipulated in the Friday issue, February 2 of “The Official Monitor”. Students of the professional and vocational state institutions will pay only 15% of the real cost; students that have state scholarships and contracts will pay 40% of the real cost. The concrete amount of the accommodation tax will be estimated in accordance with the calculation methodology of the accommodation tax and will be approved by the heads of the institutions. They must previously coordinate the taxes with the superiors. Orphan students will be exempted from the accommodation tax, Info-Prim Neo reports.
