Government sells 6 out of 54 stock lots on offer
The government sold 6 out of the total 54 lots of government-owned stocks offered for sale during the sixth round of privatization auctions, which took place on the Moldova Stock Exchange from November 5 to 7, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Proceeds amounted to 4.01 million lei, which corresponds exactly to the start price of the sold lots.
On the day the auctions kicked off, the government sold stocks in four companies for a total 3.134 million lei. The proceeds and stakes involved are the following: 632,000 lei for 96 percent in Servistransexpres, a Balti-based company specializing in transportation services; 360,000 lei for 49 percent in Orginterconstructia, a Leova-based building company; 2 million lei for 29.3 percent in Cristivlad, a film producing company; and 133,600 lei for 24.6 percent in the transport firm “Baza transportului auto nr. 35 din Sangerei".
On the last day, the government sold a 40 percent stake in the Anenii Noi-based cannery “SA Fabrica de conserve” for 870,000 lei, and 18 percent in the Balti-based “SA Marita” for a nominal sum of 6,200 lei.
Large lots on which the government relied the most during this sixth round remained unsold, and this is the case, among other, of the shopping center UNIC, the carpet-maker Floare-Carpet, and Glass Container Company.
The previous privatization round, held in late September, yielded 181 million lei from 11 lots.
