Government proposes awareness raising strategy on EU integration
The Government this week approved an awareness-raising strategy on Moldova’s integration into the European Union, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The strategy was put forward by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, which argued that the people must be informed about the European integration.
The information about the EU is fragmented and not available in the regions with reduced access to the Internet, while the existent sources of information are not efficiently used for dispersing it, the informative note accompanying the draft strategy says.
The strategy will be divided into several projects. Public contests will be held to select the economic entities that will implement these projects as the Government cannot fully finance the implementation of the strategy.
The projects envisage the instruction of journalists, press officers, functionaries working in the local public administration; the opening of regional EU information centres; the creation of a database of EU experts; the launch of a European bulletin etc.
The strategy was worked out with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Eurasia Foundation.
