Government offers building to Embassy of Turkey for free

The Government will offer a building in the municipality of Chisinau to the Embassy of Turkey without charge. The draft decision was submitted to the Government for examination by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration as a result of the agreement signed by the Governments of Turkey and Moldova, on the exchange of lands and buildings for the diplomatic missions, which entered into force on August 15 2006. The Agreement was signed on February 8 in Ankara, was ratified by the Parliament on July 20, 2006, and promulgated via a Presidential decree on August 3, 2006. The building is located on A. Mateevici Street 55 in Chisinau, is currently state-owned, and administrated by the State Enterprise “Services for diplomatic missions”. PM Vasile Tarlev mentioned on Wednesday, January 17 that the building should be transmitted as fast as possible, because Turkey already offered a building for the Embassy of Moldova in Ankara.
