The Government in its June 8 meeting decided to allocate 1 million lei from its reserve fund for the families of the four members of the SMURD team who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Moldova’s Cantemir district on June 2, IPN reports.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that this is a normal gesture and requested the responsible institutions to take the necessary measures for this assistance to reach the destination as soon as possible.
The Premier said the competent bodies acted exemplarily in this case and managed to complete the investigation into the SMURD helicopter crash in a short period of time. “Good mobilization was ensured and this was the most appropriate gesture that we could make in memory of the SMURD heroes,” he stated.
Pavel Filip thanked the Government of Romania for the assistance provided to Moldova through the SMURD rescue service and expressed his recognition for this.
