Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Moldova Toichi Sakata on August 27 will take part in the ceremony to present the catalogue of new medical equipment within the Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment in Drochia District Hospital, which is supported by the Government of Japan, IPN reports.
As part of the project, the medical institution in Drochia purchased a fibergastroscope, a fibercolonoscope and a rectosigmascope as well as two new tables for surgical operations and a modern ultrasound diagnosis system that will help improve the quality of the services provided by the hospital. The Government of Japan provided grant assistance of US$122,700 for the project, it is said in a press release of the Embassy of Japan.
The medical equipment for the Drochia District Hospital was bought within the Grant Aid for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects “KUSANONE” scheme. The Agreement on Introduction of the Grant Aid for the project was signed in January 2006 between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
