Government names consul in Milan

The Cabinet appointed Sergiu Goncearenco as consul general of Moldova in Milan, Italy, IPN reports.

Sergiu Goncearenco has worked at the Foreign Ministry since 1994. He also served at Moldova’s Embassy in Romania and held the post of consul general of Moldova in Turkey. He is a licentiate in law.

Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said that the Consulate General in Padova will start work soon. Thus, the Moldovan citizens working in northern Italy will have access to consular services.

The consulates in Milan and Padova were set up instead of the former consulate of Moldova in Bologna.
