The Cabinet of Ministers is meeting tomorrow, August 1, at the “Alecu Russo” State University in Balti. Head of Balti division of the State Chancellery Anatol Harcenco told Info-Prim Neo that the meeting will take place in the institution’s auditorium, starting at 1:00pm. Prime Minister Vlad Filat announced on July 27 that the Cabinet's meeting of August 1 will take place in Balti. Some political commentators think that the Premier’s decision is directly related to the Communist councilors’ of the Balti Municipal Council to organize a referendum on the extension of the city's autonomy. After the announcement that the Government’s meeting will take place in Balti, several people started to post internet messages that they will meet the Ministers with rotten eggs and vegetables. Some even propose to form a human chain at the entrance to the city to stop the Ministers from entering. “Our city is a peaceful one, and we want to live in peace. We don’t need Romanians; we don’t need “Romanian History”, let’s protect our city and stop our children’s transformation into slaves of the Romanians” several people wrote in reply to an article in the press. The Balti City Hall told the Info-Prim Neo reporter that there were no requests to organize any protest actions for tomorrow, August 1.
