The Government sent a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), inviting a mission of this institution to Chisinau for initiating negotiations on a new program of cooperation, Prime Minister Valeriu Stelet announced in the first meeting of the new Government, IPN reports.
The Premier said that a short-term priority is to reestablish the macro-financial stability. Among other priorities are to continue the reform in the justice sector, to fight corruption and to build infrastructure to interconnect Moldova and Romania so that Moldova is no longer dependent only on one source of gas.
Valeriu Strelet noted that a number of ministries and other authorities should draft a Government decision to provide compensations to socially deprived groups of people in connection with the rise in the electricity and natural gas tariffs.
Another priority mentioned by the Premier is to prepare the education institutions for the new academic year.
