Government initiates negotiations on financial and technical cooperation with Germany

The Government endorsed the bill to initiate negotiations and to approve the signing of the agreement on financial cooperation compiled by exchange of notes with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. The document is aimed at continuing the framework of cooperation for developing the Moldovan-German cooperation and for facilitating the obtaining of additional financial contributions from the German side for 2021-2022 (non-reimbursable assistance), IPN reports.

Dina Roșca, secretary general of the Ministry of Finance, said the assistance to the value of up to €23 million will go to implement ongoing projects, namely the projects “Support for Social and Communal Infrastructure III” (€8m), “Drinking Water Supply and Sewerage System, Moldova Centru, VPT, phase 3” (€13.5m) and “Drinking Water Supply and Sewerage System, Moldova Centru, VPT, phase 3, support measures” (€1.5m).

In the same meeting, the Government approved the bill to initiate negotiations and to approve the signing of the agreement on technical cooperation compiled by exchange of notes with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. The document is aimed at continuing the framework of cooperation for developing the Moldovan-German cooperation and for facilitating the obtaining of additional technical assistance from the German side for 2021-2022 (non-reimbursable assistance) in the form of personnel and material goods and eventual financial contributions in the amount of at most €10.7 million.
