Government has modified composition of commissions examining applicants for excellence and nominal awards
The commissions that examine the documents of the applicants for excellence awards offered by the Government and for nominal awards given to persons studying for their doctorate, together with officials of the executive and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, will include representatives of the Rectors Board and of the Association of Young Researchers of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The decision was taken at the last meeting of the Government with the aim of increasing transparency of the award granting process.
As the grades on the admissions exams for doctorate are not considered conclusive for the quality of the doctoral studies, they cannot be taken into account when distributing the awards, the draft decision says.
The applicants for awards must have at least three communiqués printed in publications of national importance and at least two communiqués in publications of international importance.
Each year, the Government provides 20 excellence awards to the value of 2,500 lei and 7 nominal awards for doctor’s degree applicants in the amount of 2,000 lei.
