Government gives more money for Olympic achievements
The Government increased the prizes for results achieved at the first Youth Olympic Games, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The prize for the sportspersons who will win gold at the Singapore Youth Olympics will be €20,000, for silver - €15,000, while for bronze € - 10,000.
Initially, the planned sums were €15,000, €10,000 and €5,000. At its August 17 meeting, the Government decided to increase them.
On August 16, Moldova’s Iulia Leorda won a silver medal in the women’s freestyle wrestling.
The first Youth Olympic Games brought together over 3,000 sportspersons from 205 countries. Moldova is represented by 11 sportspersons, who are competing in nine events.
