Government expresses condolences to Russia in connection with Rostov-on-Don plane crash

Prime Minister Pavel Filip sent a letter of condolence to his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in connection with the Rostov-on-Don plane crash, IPN reports.

“In these hard moments, I offer my profound condolences and compassion to the relatives and close people of those who died in this tragic accident,” says the Premier’s letter.

In the morning of March 19, a passenger jet crashed in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, killing all 55 passengers and seven crew on board. The FlyDubai Boeing 737-800, coming from Dubai, missed the runway as it made a second attempt to land, officials said.

In another development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration condemned the terror attack in the center of Turkey’s Istanbul, which claimed four lives and injured many more on March 19. It expressed its regret at the loss of human lives and sympathy for the persons hurt in this attack and offered its sincere condolences to victims’ families.

In a press release, the Ministry reiterates Moldova’s firm commitment to combat all forms of terrorism and reasserts the need to join the international forces in the fight against this global threat.
