The Government of Moldova set the goal of reforming the pension system, public administration, the hospital system and primary medicine. The issue was discussed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip with the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Vice President of the European Commission, in a meeting in Brussels. The Premier noted that Moldova needs the political assistance of the EU in doing these reforms, IPN reports.
“The priority reform action roadmap helped us a lot to obtain an agreement with the IMF, which is a confidence certificate for us. I’m confident that we can unblock external financing. The Government attaches special importance to the working out of the new Association Agenda with the EU, which will become an integral part of the new national plan for implementing the Association Agreement for 2017-2019,” stated Pavel Filip.
Federica Mogherini appreciated the actions taken by the Government to stimulate the reform process and expressed the EU’s readiness to support the reform agenda aimed at improving the quality of life in Moldova.
The officials also discussed the Meeting of the Group of Friends for Moldova that will take place on December 12 and will represent a good occasion for setting the priorities in the cooperation with the EU. In this connection, Pavel Filip invited Federica Mogherini to visit Moldova at the beginning of next year.
