Government creates institutional framework for formulating economic recovery plan

The Government worked out the institutional framework for formulating the economic recovery plan and approved a relevant decision at its Thursday's meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. Last weekend, the new executive pledged to devise a program of immediate measures aimed at alleviating the effects of the economic crisis. There was set up a council for coordinating the formulation of the program that will become Moldova's economic recovery plan. The major task of the council is to identify viable measures to stabilize and revive the economy. The council was created according to the participative principle. Alongside the deputy ministers, the ministers of economy, foreign affairs, fiance, labor, social protection and family, it includes the first vice governor of the National Bank and representatives of the business community, the civil society and of the development partners. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar was named head of the council. Outlines of the plan under formulation will be published on the Ministry of Economy's website so as to ensure transparency in decision making. Moldova's economic recovery plan will be finalized by October 25, 2009.
